Self Packing Tips

The first step in moving is packing your belongings into boxes. We need to save space while ensuring everything is well-packed for safe arrival at destination. Here are some packing tips:

1. Boxes Sizes
   • Small Box: (For heavy items like books, documents, CDs/DVDs)
   • Medium Box: (For general items like clothes, shoes, handbags, kitchenware, miscellaneous items, small appliances)
   • Large Box: (For lightweight but bulky items like coats, bedding, linens, toys)
     
     
2. Sorting and Packing
   After understanding the different box sizes, you can start categorizing and packing your items. Sort them by room, size, and type. This not only helps you pack in an organized manner but also allows you to keep track of items from different spaces. It makes it easier to fill out the packing list for ToR1 applications, shipping declarations, and delivery checks. Additionally, it simplifies the unpacking process and saves time at destination.
   
   
3. Packing and Storage Tips
   
   
   • Fragile and Valuable Items: Use appropriate materials to ensure the best protection during transit. For fragile items like kitchenware, glassware, wine glasses, and porcelain, wrap them first in packing paper (white newsprint or tissue paper) and then in bubble wrap for extra protection. When placing them in boxes, use packing paper to fill any gaps to prevent items from shifting and colliding during transport.
     
     
   • Small Loose Items: For items like electronic accessories, cables, photo frames, household items, and jewellery, use sealable bags or plastic bags and small boxes to categorize and pack them before placing them in larger boxes. Each box should not exceed 30 kg. Overweight boxes can cause injuries to both customers and staff during handling, and excessive weight can also affect the operation of trucks and container equipment.
